According to a report in The Times, the former Fortnum & Mason boss has quit over a row about the famed private members club (pictured above) that counts Stephen Fry, Kate Moss and Noel Gallagher as members ‘going corporate’.

Over the summer, an anonymous letter circulated among members accused Artfarm of presiding over a “destruction” of the club’s culture.

Since its acquisition of the Soho-based institution in 2022 Artfarm has launched a sister location in Yorkshire.

According to The Times, Venters will step down in January next year or sooner if a replacement can be found.

Artfarm is owned by Swiss art gallery investors Iwan and Manuela Wirth and has increased its operations significantly since Venters joined 2021.

Its hospitality projects include The Audley Public House and Mount St. Restaurant in Mayfair; Fish Shop in Ballater; and the Fife Arms.

Its most recent project is Da Costa in Bruton, which occupies the space that was previously home to Roth Bar & Grill in art gallery Hauser & Wirth Somerset.
