The pair join the group, which operates the Revolution, Revolución de Cuba, Peach Pubs and Founders & Co brands, following a recent restructuring that last week culminated in it rebranding from Revolution Bars Group to The Revel Collective.

McVeigh (pictured) is best known as founder of the 16-strong The Draft House group, which he sold to BrewDog back in 2018.

Since then, he has worked closely with entrepreneurial businesses on strategy, fund-raising and exit.

His portfolio of current investments and board roles includes The Breakfast Club and Butchies Buttermilk Fried Chicken.

George co-founded The Laine Pub Company in 1997 and served as its CEO until last month.

“They join the business at an exciting time,” says Luke Johnson, chairman of The Revel Collective, of the new appointments.

“It now benefits from a much firmer financial footing and is in an improved position to deliver shareholder value.

“Both Gavin and Charlie created and led successful licensed bar businesses, and the Board will gain much from their experience. There remains lots of work to do, and we greatly look forward to their contributions.”

The Revel Collective’s recent restructuring allowed the group to amend and extend lending facilities, exit certain loss-making sites, and implement rent reductions at others to return them to profitability.
