Building on the partnership between Oliver’s restaurant group and John Lewis, the opening will mark the chef’s second Cookery School in the capital.

The other is based in Jamie Oliver HQ in North London.

“I’m delighted to partner with John Lewis to bring our unique Cookery School to life in a flagship location in central London,” says Kevin Styles, CEO of the Jamie Oliver Group.

“This is the next step in growing the footprint of the Jamie Oliver Cookery School across the UK and internationally and central to making Jamie’s stripped back, chef-inspired food accessible to everyone.”

The new Jamie Oliver Cookery School will have two classrooms, each accommodating up to 24 guests with the option of the doors between the rooms being open to allow for a class of up to 48.

Over 40 classes will be available to book including ones dedicated to Vietnamese street food, punchy Peruvian ceviche, calzone made easy, and mastering knife skills.

Adjacent to the Cookery School will be the Jamie Oliver Café, which will hold 50 covers and serve a menu that includes a range of salads, filled focaccias and sweet treats cooked fresh on-site.

Dishes will champion some of Oliver’s favourite suppliers including HG Walters, Dusty Knuckle Bakery, Stickleback Fish, and Liberty Wines.

“This is an exciting step in the evolution of the Jamie Oliver Cookery School as it continues to go from strength to strength,” says Ed Loftus, global restaurant group director for the Jamie Oliver Group.

“Our Cookery School in Jamie Oliver HQ has seen double-digit like-for-like growth since it first opened and even more importantly, we continue to receive incredible positive feedback from our customers.”

Oliver made his highly anticipated return to the London restaurant scene late last year with the launch of Jamie Oliver Catherine St in Covent Garden; his first opening on British shores since the collapse of his UK restaurant business back in 2019.

The chef also operates a burgeoning international estate that encompasses more than 70 sites.

Earlier this year the group said it was targeting further expansion in Europe and actively looking for franchise partners in Poland, Spain, Switzerland and Austria as it continues growing its footprint globally.
