LANGHAM HOSPITALITY ADDS TO CHINA PORTFOLIO: Langham Hospitality Group (LHG) has grown its presence in China with the launch of its second Cordis hotel in Shanghai. The opening of Cordis, Shanghai, SeaWorld also marks the third hotel in China under the Cordis Hotels and Resorts brand. Part of the Shanghai SeaWorld complex, China Merchants Group’s new urban tourism and cultural hub, the hotel features 274 rooms and suites. Amenities include multiple dining outlets, a 20-meter indoor pool overlooking the rivers, a fitness center and more than 1,700 square meters of meeting and events space. The new hotel marks the fourth project by China Merchants Group to be managed by LHG, following an earlier three-property deal at the Xiamen SeaWorld plot.
MOTTO BY HILTON OPENS IN BENTONVILLE: Motto by Hilton, the microtel hotel brand by Hilton, has added a new location with the opening of Motto by Hilton Bentonville Downtown. Located at Bentonville, Ark., the hotel is owned and developed by the Windsor Aughtry Company and managed by Hospitality America. The hotel features 175 rooms with customizable sleeping setups — flexible beds that can be stowed into the wall, bunk beds and more. The hotel also offers Motto Commons (an open, common space), two restaurant concepts, a fitness center and a business center.
RANCHO SANTA FE RETREAT COMPLETES RENOVATIONS: The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe, the luxury retreat in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., has completed a multi-year transformation with the launch of its Residences & Villas Collection. The residences and villas expand the guest experience and offer a home-like experience with personal concierge service with full access to the resort’s dining concept, spa and more. The residences have been designed by Nina Chiappa along with architect Steve Harmann. The residences offer two units, with both of them offering two-car garages with private driveways, full kitchens, common areas and private yards overlooking the hills of Rancho Santa Fe. The collection also includes three villas, with one- and two-bedroom homes with full kitchens and private yards.
IHCL OPENS BHUTAN HOTEL: Indian Hotels Co. (IHCL), the Mumbai-based hospitality company, has expanded its portfolio with the addition of a hotel in Bhutan. Located amid the Yarkay, Thimphu, IHCL SeleQtions offers 83 rooms. Inspired by Bhutan’s folktale of ‘Four Friends,’ the hotel’s interiors celebrate Bhutanese culture and values with traditional-style wooden panels and monastery-inspired Dzongs. The hotel includes two restaurants, a fitness center with views of the Himalayas, an indoor pool and a spa. IHCL’s portfolio currently includes 345 hotels, including 115 under development globally.
