The 3,500sq ft site will be located on Mark Lane in the City of London and will open in ‘either December or January’ according to Joshua Kleiner, head of operations and marketing at the sandwich business.
The new site will be Sandwich Sandwich’s fifth site, joining its three venues in Bristol and one on London’s Gresham Street, which opened in the summer, and which led to large queues of customers in the opening months.
Making the announcement on Instagram, Kleiner says: “To be completely honest, I’m not even sure I’m allowed to announce this at all but here we are.”
Kleiner had previously revealed his intentions to open a second site in the capital before the end of the year as part of the company’s plans to open ‘four or five’ more London sites before looking to other parts of the country as well as potential international markets.
He has also previously stated that he believes the brand can compete with the likes of the big sandwich players in the UK, including Pret a Manger and Subway.
Referring to this claim on Instagram, he adds: “We weren’t joking when I said we are coming for some of the biggest players in this industry.”
