The biggest concerns around AI cited by respondents were data security and accuracy, according to a new Amex GBT survey

According to a study of 2,260 business travelers published by American Express Global Business, while most believe AI will improve the efficiency of their travel experience, they are hesitant to rely on technology for more personal aspects of travel.

Key takeaways

Ninety-five percent of respondents believe AI could improve their travel experience, with convenience (44%), cost savings (43%), and better expense management (41%) being the top benefits;

Respondents also said AI has “great potential” to handle basic tasks, including simplifying flight selection, cited by 37 percent of respondents, and hotel selection, cited by 35 percent, according to Amex GBT;

Travelers were less enthusiastic about AI personalizing their in-flight services, such as seat and meal preferences, and selecting a hotel room, cited by only 29 percent and 23 percent of respondents, respectively.
