Ace Hotels has announced key executive appointments to support the company’s ongoing growth and expansion into international markets. Chris Penn has been appointed CEO, Mostafa Abdella as Chief Operating Officer, and Meriem Soliman as Chief Brand Officer. These appointments are part of Ace Hotels’ strategy to strengthen its leadership team and drive growth across its global portfolio.

Chris Penn returns as CEO

Chris Penn, a professional with over 25 years of experience in the hospitality sector, has rejoined Ace Hotels as CEO. Penn previously served as Managing Director at Ace Hotel London, where he played a critical role in the launch of the property in 2013. In his new role as CEO, Penn will oversee all operations and lead the company’s expansion efforts. His background in lifestyle and urban hotel sectors will be key, as the company looks to grow its international presence.

Mostafa Abdella appointed Chief Operating Officer

Mostafa Abdella, who has held various senior roles within Ace Hotels, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer. Abdella brings 25 years of experience in hospitality, including his previous role as Managing Director at Ace Hotel London. In his new position, Abdella will be responsible for managing Ace’s operations, including finance, revenue, IT, HR, and food and beverage. Abdella’s experience working in multiple global markets will support the company’s focus on improving guest experiences and operational efficiency.

“Chris and Mostafa are both seasoned and highly regarded operators with international experience and a deep understanding of the Ace brand. Their long history of successful partnerships will be a great asset as we continue to pursue development opportunities both domestically and internationally. I look forward to combining our expertise and working together to deliver growth and commercial success for our development partners.” – Brad Wilson, Managing Partner of Ace Group International / Atelier Ace

Meriem Soliman elevated to Chief Brand Officer

Meriem Soliman, who has been with Ace Hotels since 2012, has been promoted to Chief Brand Officer. Soliman, who previously served as General Counsel and President, has a deep understanding of the company’s operations, brand, and strategic goals. In her new role, Soliman will focus on strengthening Ace’s brand identity, expanding market share, and developing strategies to engage new audiences. Her experience across various business areas, from design to marketing, will play a pivotal role in guiding Ace Hotels’ future direction.

“Meriem knows the Ace brand inside and out and has been instrumental in its evolution over the past decade. Her relationships with the art and design, food and beverage, and cultural and non-profit sectors are unmatched and there is no one more natural fit to lead the brand at this time. This role change will allow Meriem to apply her extensive knowledge of the business side of the company to the brand side, developing strategies that will drive audience acquisition and market share” – Brad Wilson, Managing Partner of Ace Group International / Atelier Ace

Ongoing Expansion and Global Growth Strategy

Ace Hotels continues its expansion strategy with a focus on international markets. The brand currently operates nine properties across the United States, Japan, Greece, and Australia, with plans to open a second location in Japan in 2027. The company’s growth strategy includes expanding into key global cities and enhancing its presence in the lifestyle hotel sector, which is becoming increasingly competitive.
