Accor, is expanding its footprint in Austria with the addition of three new hotels in collaboration with VERKEHRSBUERO HOSPITALITY. This expansion includes the debut of two new brands, TRIBE and Handwritten Collection, in Vienna, as well as the opening of a Novotel hotel in Salzburg.
Brand introductions: TRIBE and Handwritten Collection
TRIBE, will open its first hotel in Austria in 2027 with the TRIBE Vienna City, previously the Austria Trend Hotel Europa Wien. Located in the central district of Vienna near St. Stephen’s Cathedral on Kärntnerstrasse, the hotel will offer 160 rooms, along with a social hub featuring a coffee and cocktail bar, flexible seating areas, and a 24/7 Grab&Go service. TRIBE is recognized for offering high-quality design at a fair price, focusing on essential services and a modern approach to hotel design.

The Handwritten Collection, known for its collection of individually curated hotels, will also launch its first property in Austria, the Hotel Rathauspark Wien, set to open in early 2026. The hotel will feature 105 rooms and a breakfast restaurant. Located in the city center, it will provide easy access to Vienna’s key landmarks, such as the town hall and MuseumsQuartier.
Novotel expands in Salzburg
Novotel, will expand its presence in Austria with a new hotel opening in Salzburg in 2028. The former Hotel Europa will be rebranded as Novotel Salzburg, offering 103 rooms, two conference rooms, a fitness center, and a restaurant. Located near the city center and main train station, the hotel will cater to both business and leisure travelers.

Accor’s expanding portfolio in Austria
With the addition of these three hotels, Accor’s portfolio in Austria will grow to 41 properties across key cities and leisure destinations, including Vienna, Graz, Klagenfurt, Salzburg, and Bregenz. The group will offer a variety of brands across all market segments, from economy and midscale to premium and lifestyle.
