This appointment, effective March 1, 2025, is part of Hyatt Hotels Corporation’s ongoing strategy to further focus on its brands.

Javier Águila, who currently serves as President for the Europe, Africa, and Middle East regions, will now oversee all aspects of Hyatt’s global all-inclusive portfolio. He will work closely with international operational teams to maximize the success and growth of this segment. In his new role, he will supervise operations, brand strategy, development, and commercial performance of the portfolio.

Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection portfolio, which includes around 55,000 rooms, is distinguished by its 11 brands, including Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, recently integrated into the collection through a strategic 50/50 joint venture with Grupo Piñero. Javier Águila will also sit on the board of this joint venture.

This move follows Hyatt’s initiative to divide its operations into five distinct portfolios: Lifestyle, Luxury, Inclusive, Classics, and Essentials. The formation of a dedicated Lifestyle group, led by Amar Lalvani, was one of the first steps in this restructuring, with further announcements regarding a luxury group expected later in the year.

“Through our distinct brand portfolios and leadership, we reaffirm our commitment to delivering experiences tailored to the specific needs of our guests and customers. Javier joined Hyatt following the acquisition of Apple Leisure Group in 2021. With his extensive expertise in the all-inclusive segment and the growth dynamic in the EAME region under his leadership since 2022, I am confident he will unlock the full potential of our expanding Inclusive Collection. He will also help solidify Hyatt’s position as a leader in the all-inclusive space, while deepening our focus on our guests, clients, and owners in this promising segment. Javier has a growth-oriented mindset and is full of innovative ideas to continuously improve the performance of all the brands in our Inclusive Collection.” – Mark Hoplamazian, President and CEO of Hyatt
