Onyx Hospitality Group is expanding the Amari brand portfolio and is adding more properties across Southeast Asia. The Thai hospitality management company has announced the opening of Amari Colombo in Sri Lanka and revealed plans for new Amari properties in Laos and Thailand later this year.
Amari Colombo has officially opened in Sri Lanka’s capital. The 167-room property features a rooftop pool with panoramic city views, dining options like Ahāra, which specializes in sustainable seafood, and Prego, an Italian restaurant. Other amenities include a bar and an exclusive executive lounge.
Located near landmarks such as Gangaramaya Temple and Victoria Park, the hotel provides a central base for exploring Colombo’s cultural and historical attractions.
Amari Vientiane is set to open along the Mekong River in Laos this March. Offering 248 rooms and suites, the hotel combines Lao and Thai design elements, with amenities including a rooftop restaurant, spa and the capital’s highest executive club lounge. The hotel is situated 4.8 kilometers from Wattay International Airport.
The property is designed to serve as a gateway to Vientiane’s cultural landmarks, markets and the Mekong River.
Located opposite Bangsaen Beach in Bangkok, Amari The Tide Bangsaen will transform the existing Tide Resort into a 154-room beachfront retreat. The resort is expected to open in May. Positioned just over an hour from Bangkok and 45 minutes from Pattaya, the property offers convenient access to local attractions.
Features include a spa, fitness center, swimming pool, kids’ club and event spaces for up to 900 participants. Dining options include a restaurant and a beach café.
Besides the new additions to the Amari brand portfolio, Onyx Hospitality has also upgraded the Amari Koh Samui. The property has added a new swimming pool to its Garden Wing, enhancing its appeal as a family-friendly destination. The property will also be launching updated room categories in May, which includes pool side connecting rooms, catering to families and groups. The rooms will have connecting doors for seamless access and balconies with views of the pool and gardens.
