Accor continues its expansion across Spain with the recent opening of two new properties: Novotel Valencia Lavant and Ibis Styles Santander. These openings mark an important step in the company’s growth strategy in key Spanish cities, offering contemporary accommodations in both urban and regional locations.

Novotel Valencia Lavant: Enhancing Valencia’s hospitality offerings

Accor, in partnership with the Pictet Group and Hesperia World, announced the opening of Novotel Valencia Lavant. Located in Valencia, this one is the brand’s first hotel in the city. Situated strategically between the city’s historic centre and the Palacio de Congresos, the hotel is positioned in the Turia Garden area, making it easily accessible for both business and leisure visitors. The hotel features 370 rooms and introduces a two-level rooftop terrace with a pool and bar, providing views of the city skyline.

Designed by the Sundukovy Sisters Design & Architecture Studio, the hotel combines contemporary design with local Valencian influences. The hotel also includes Novotel’s new premium bed concept, which focuses on enhancing guest comfort and sleep quality. As part of Accor’s sustainability efforts, the property aligns with the company’s environmental standards.

“The opening of Novotel Valencia Lavant represents a strategic move in our Iberian expansion. Together with Pictet and Hesperia World, we are excited to start this new phase in Valencia, a vibrant, cosmopolitan and growing city.” – Marc Serarols, SVP Franchise Operations Iberia, Mediterranean & North Africa at Accor

Ibis Styles Santander: First internationally branded hotel in the city

Accor is also expanding in Santander with the rebranding of a 93-room independent hotel to an Ibis Styles property. This hotel, located in the Barrio Pesquero district, is strategically positioned close to Santander’s historic centre, industrial port, and the Marquès de Valdecilla University Hospital. This central location is expected to cater to a variety of guests, including business travellers, medical professionals, and tourists.

This hotel is being developed in partnership with EXTENDAM and Continuum Hospitality Group, reflecting the growing demand for internationally recognized hotel brands in regional markets.

The rebranded Ibis Styles hotel opened in July 2022, and will minor renovations. The hotel’s design will adhere to the standards of Accor’s sustainability initiatives, further enhancing its environmental credentials.

‘This new acquisition with our partner is a great opportunity to complement a growing accommodation offer in the Cantabria region. The future ibis Styles Santander will be able to count on the in-depth knowledge of the Spanish market of Continuum Hospitality Group, an experienced local operator and builder with whom we have already completed ten operations in Spain’ – Anna Cohen for EXTENDAM.

These new openings reflect Accor’s commitment to expanding its footprint in Spain, providing both business and leisure travellers with quality accommodations in key locations across the country.
