Now named Forte de Gaia, this 5* hotel is part of the strategy of the Spanish investment fund Azora to strengthen its presence in the luxury market in Portugal.

Formerly the Lodge Oporto, the property joined Marriott International’s portfolio after a complete renovation and repositioning process.

The Forte de Gaia hotel offers 119 rooms, including five suites and two two-story luxury suites, all designed by renowned decorator Nini Andrade Silva. It features several amenities, including a heated outdoor pool, a fine dining restaurant with a terrace overlooking the Douro River, a gym, and private event spaces. The business center includes four large meeting and reception rooms tailored to the MICE sector’s needs.

Unlike other Marriott brands, Autograph Collection groups hotels that maintain a strong individual identity while benefiting from the advantages of the international group. This concept is based on the authenticity and uniqueness of each establishment, values reflected in the hotel’s design.

A new chapter for luxury hospitality in Porto

The opening of Forte de Gaia, Autograph Collection, marks a significant milestone in luxury hospitality in Porto. As Concha Osácar, founder of Azora, mentioned, Porto is a destination that combines leisure and authentic heritage. This reopening under the Autograph Collection brand adds a new dimension to the city’s tourism offering.
