Luxury hotel group Kempinski has secured a prestigious new property under its management — the Nymphenburg Palace Royal Residence in Munich. In an agreement with HRH Prince Luitpold von Bayern and the Royal Family of Bavaria, Kempinski will exclusively manage the historic private residence from March 1.
Located at the intersection of the city, the Royal Residence spans 836 square meters across three floors and features four bedrooms, seven bathrooms, multiple living and dining spaces, a fitness room, home cinema, wine cellar and a private garden capable of hosting up to 100 guests. Outdoors, the property offers a private garden with a majolica terrace that can accommodate up to 100 guests.
The interiors showcase rare pieces from the Nymphenburg Porcelain Manufactory, including handcrafted tableware and sculptures, alongside artworks by Damien Hirst and Nick Knight.

“This partnership represents an exciting opportunity for Kempinski to elevate the guest experience in one of Europe’s most prestigious addresses,” said Barbara Muckermann, CEO of Kempinski Hotels.
The deal strengthens Kempinski’s historic ties to the Bavarian royal family. The group’s flagship property in Munich, Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski, was built in 1858 by King Maximilian II, the great-great-grandfather of Prince Luitpold.
“This partnership will usher in a new era of outstanding hospitality within the ultra-luxury segment for Kempinski,” said Prince Luitpold von Bayern. “As the hotel that hosts guests of the royal family next to the Residence, it has long served as a benchmark for luxury hospitality. We are now embarking on a new chapter of collaboration. Kempinski will take over the management of the Nymphenburg Palace Royal Residence, a uniquely beautiful house located within the grounds of the porcelain manufactory at the northern roundabout of Nymphenburg Palace. This venue is tailored for guests who expect the highest cultural standards.”
The residence is available for private events, weddings and corporate retreats, with full-service luxury amenities including a 24/7 butler, airport transfers and a chauffeured limousine.
Established in 1897, Kempinski Hotels is among Europe’s oldest luxury hotel group. The group has expanded to include 78 hotels and residences across 32 countries and more than 31 projects under development globally.
