Sofitel has opened the Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile, expanding its presence in Egypt’s hospitality sector. This five-star hotel integrates French-inspired design with Egyptian cultural elements, providing an upscale accommodation option in a central location.

The opening of Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile aligns with Accor’s strategy to expand its luxury portfolio in key international markets. The hotel joins a lineup of Sofitel properties in Egypt, including Sofitel Legend Pyramids Giza, which is a hotel that marked the second property for Sofitel in the country, with the new Cairo hotel further enhancing the brand’s presence in this key market.

A prime location along the Nile

Situated in the heart of Cairo, the Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile enjoys a prime location along the Nile River. Guests are within easy reach of key landmarks such as Tahrir Square, the Cairo Opera House, and the Pyramids of Giza.

Elegant accommodations and amenities

The hotel boasts 615 rooms and suites spread across 24 floors, each featuring a private balcony with panoramic views of the Nile. Each room includes spa-inspired bathrooms with rainfall showers and aromatherapy products. Moreover, the hotel offers 52 suites with additional personalized services.

“The opening of the Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile signifies an important milestone in Sofitel’s commitment to redefining luxury hospitality; it also is the largest hotel that we’ve opened anywhere in the world. This exceptional property combines Sofitel’s renowned French savoir-faire with Egypt’s rich local culture, offering guests an unparalleled experience overlooking the iconic Nile River. Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile is a remarkable addition to our portfolio of five-star hotels, and we’re looking forward to welcoming our first guests.” – Nicolas Gronier, VP Global Marketing for Sofitel
