The Brasserie at Sopwell House is back as the St Albans’ restaurant reopens its doors following a stunning refurbishment, complete with a vibrant new menu that’s sure to impress. To celebrate the launch, be one of the very first to enjoy an exclusive offer of three courses and a glass of wine for just £29 from now until 2nd May*.

Set within countryside hotel, Sopwell House, The Brasserie combines timeless elegance with modern flair, offering guests a refined yet relaxed space to dine and unwind.

Executive Chef Gopi Chandran and Brasserie Head Chef Marilena Ungureanu have taken great care in curating a reimagined menu packed with creativity and flavour. With a passion for local, quality ingredients, The Brasserie’s menus are a celebration of comforting British classics featuring elevated twists, with every plate utilising the very best locally available produce.

Effortlessly executed to make each ingredient sing, new signature starters include Chicken liver parfait served with apple and blackberry chutney and toasted brioche; Baked scallops served in the shell with a bacon crumble and garlic parsley butter; and Goats’ cheese croquettes with roasted red pepper sauce. Must-try mains include Cornish cod with crushed sweet garden peas, shaved fennel and dill; a Braised lamb shoulder pie in a red wine jus; and the ever-popular Slow cooked beef cheeks with mashed potato and red wine sauce.

From the grill, indulge in 28-day dry aged Hereford prime steaks, from fillet to sirloin on the bone, cooked to perfection and accompanied by fries and choice of sauce. For a true showstopper, share the 900g rib of beef, cooked on the Mibrasa charcoal grill to lock in maximum flavour.

Sundays are all about the roast with a selection of premium cuts available, from the 28-day aged Angus striploin of beef to a Gloucester Old Spot pork belly. Every plate is served with an abundance of crispy-on-the-outside, fluffy on-the-inside roasties, along with seasonal mixed vegetables, Yorkshire puddings and a generous helping of gravy.

A nostalgic nod to British sweet treats, desserts at The Brasserie include classics such as Bakewell tart and Blueberry cheesecake, along with an Artisanal British cheese board of four regional cheeses with a quince paste. For a touch of decadence, opt for the rich Chocolate delice, served with a Stracciatella ice cream, before rounding off the meal with a choice of teas and coffees.

The drinks list has been thoughtfully curated to complement the menu, offering a range of beers and lagers, whilst wine aficionados can take their pick from the extensive list of bottles from across the globe including dessert and fortified options. A selection of premium wines is also available via Coravin, allowing diners to try exclusive varieties by the glass and discover The Brasserie’s little black book of expert wine producers.

Following a transformative redesign, the expansive interiors are bright and airy, flooded with natural light and feature warm tones of blue and amber, bold prints and patterned tiling that create an inviting atmosphere from morning to evening. Modern pendant lighting adds a welcoming glow, whilst layered textured fabrics, bespoke furniture and art deco touches complete the stylish look. Striking curved and custom-built banquette seating provides the perfect spot for dinner with friends, while discreet nooks and smaller tables set the mood for intimate date nights.

Open seven days a week from breakfast to dinner, come together with friends and family at The Brasserie, with bookings available at www.sopwellhouse.co.uk/dine/the-brasserie/.
