Radisson Hotel Group is expanding its presence in Berlin with the upcoming opening of Radisson RED Berlin Potsdamer Platz, set to open by the end of 2026. This marks the second Radisson RED property in the German capital, continuing the brand’s growth across key European cities.
Renovation of historic building
The new hotel will be housed in the former Siemens headquarters building located on Schöneberger Straße. Originally constructed in the early 20th century, the building has had various uses, including as a hotel from 2001 to 2024. The upcoming hotel will undergo an extensive renovation to modernize the space while preserving its historical architecture.
The renovation will prioritize energy efficiency and sustainability, in line with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria. A notable feature of the hotel will be a retractable glass roof over the inner courtyard, allowing guests to enjoy a unique outdoor experience.
Hotel features and amenities
Radisson RED Berlin Potsdamer Platz will offer 249 rooms and suites, many with high ceilings, while the hotel will also feature nearly 950 square meters of conference space, including Siemens Hall, which will be adapted for modern use.
In addition to the guest accommodations, the hotel will provide a variety of amenities, including a restaurant, bar, sauna, fitness center, and underground parking garage. The hotel’s design will reflect Radisson RED’s signature modern, design-driven approach, focusing on comfort and functionality.
Radisson RED’s growth in Europe
The new opening will contribute to Radisson Hotel Group’s continued expansion in Berlin, where the group already operates over 3,100 rooms across eight properties. With the addition of Radisson RED Berlin Potsdamer Platz, the group is further strengthening its presence in Europe. Radisson RED currently has hotels in Berlin, Vienna, Innsbruck, Stuttgart, and will soon open its first hotel in Switzerland, in Winterthur.
Looking ahead for Radisson RED
The opening of Radisson RED Berlin Potsdamer Platz reflects Radisson RED’s continued expansion and the increasing demand for affordable, design-focused hotels in key urban markets. As the second Radisson RED hotel in Berlin and part of a broader expansion strategy, the hotel will offer both local and international guests an appealing option in the city’s Potsdamer Platz area.
