Accor, is expanding its economy hotel offerings in Germany with the opening of five new properties set to launch in 2025. The new hotels will be part of the Ibis brand family, which includes Ibis, Ibis Styles, and Ibis Budget. This expansion aligns with the growing demand for cost-effective travel options without compromising on quality.

New openings across Germany

Ibis Styles Neckarsulm: Now open
The Ibis Styles Neckarsulm has reopened following a complete renovation of the former Nestor Hotel. The property, now part of the Ibis Styles brand under Accor and operated by The Chocolate on the Pillow Group, introduces a design concept reflecting elements of the city’s automotive history and regional wine culture.

The 97-room hotel features interiors that reference local themes. Public areas incorporate visual nods to the region’s wine tradition, including wine barrels and sepia-toned artwork. The design was developed by Brumann Innenarchitektur, based in Ascheberg.

As part of the refurbishment, the hotel has also expanded its room offering to include family rooms, accessible rooms, and compact suites. Guests have access to a fitness space equipped with Technogym machines. The property also supports sustainable travel through electric vehicle charging stations and bicycle storage facilities. Guests can enjoy a locally inspired breakfast and a comfortable, eco-friendly environment.

Ibis and Ibis Budget at Berlin-Brandenburg Airport (Opening Spring 2025)
Two Ibis-branded hotels, Ibis and Ibis Budget, will open at Berlin-Brandenburg Airport in spring 2025. Each hotel will offer 114 rooms, along with shared spaces including a lobby, reception, and café. With direct access to the airport via an S-Bahn connection, these hotels will cater to both business and leisure travelers passing through Berlin.

Ibis Styles Hamburg HafenCity (Opening Mid-2025)
In Hamburg’s HafenCity district, the Ibis Styles Hamburg HafenCity will offer 403 rooms, along with a breakfast restaurant and hotel bar. The hotel is part of a larger district development, which will include shopping, leisure, and entertainment options. The adjacent Novotel Hamburg HafenCity, also opening in 2025, will complement the new Ibis Styles hotel. Moreover, it will feature 163 rooms and “THE FLAVE” restaurant. Both hotels will be managed by Accor under a management contract.

Ibis Styles Munich Airport (Opening Mid-2025)
The Ibis Styles Munich Airport, with 358 rooms, will feature a design inspired by the local Isar region. The hotel will offer modern amenities, including an open lobby, a restaurant, a bar, and co-working spaces. A children’s area and self-service food market will also be available to meet the needs of both business and family travelers.

“Our brand concepts in the economy sector illustrate Accor’s strengths: modern, high-quality service, an individualized approach through appealing and at the same time adaptive design and a guest experience that goes beyond the mere hotel stay through additional offers such as our ALL loyalty program,” – Thiemo Willms, Vice President Development DACH at Accor.

Addressing Growing Demand for Budget-Friendly Travel

Accor’s expansion in Germany comes in response to increasing demand for budget-friendly accommodation options. A recent study by Accor found that 88% of travelers are actively seeking ways to reduce their travel expenses, with 23% of German respondents noting that choosing cheaper accommodations is a key strategy for managing costs. By expanding its economy portfolio, Accor aims to provide travelers with accessible options that offer modern design and reliable service.

These new Ibis-branded hotels will meet the needs of both business and leisure travelers, helping Accor strengthen its position in the economy hotel market in Germany.
