Meliá Hotels International and Summum Hotel Group have announced a new partnership to revitalize high-value tourism in the Costa Brava. This collaboration focuses on transforming the existing Etuu Begur Hotel into a luxurious, premium retreat. Set to join Meliá’s Affiliated by Meliá portfolio, the hotel will be rebranded as Meliá Begur after a comprehensive renovation and expansion scheduled to be completed in 2026.
A strategic transformation in Begur
Located in the Empordà region of Girona, Meliá Begur will sit in the heart of Begur’s old town, close to the Mediterranean’s beaches and coves, including Platja Fonda, Cala de Malaret, and the Fornells area. This prime location offers visitors a calm environment, perfect for both leisure and business travelers. The transformation of the hotel, owned by the AX Partners private equity fund, will expand its current 42 rooms to 65, offering guests more space and luxury.

Following its renovation, Meliá Begur will embody the essence of the Meliá Hotels & Resorts brand, combining contemporary style with warm hospitality. The property will feature a range of amenities, including multiple dining options, a swimming pool, a spa, a gym, and meeting rooms.
