USA, Los Angeles, California.
April 22, 2025

As the highly anticipated opening of Hotel Lucile, a Casetta Hotels property, approaches in April 2025—signaling a landmark year of expansion for the brand as it increases its Southern California footprint—Casetta is proud to announce Anthony Gutierrez as the hotel’s opening general manager. Gutierrez’s passion for hospitality began with his early roles in guest services, later evolving into a career defined by building exceptional experiences for guests, including his active experience serving as general manager of The Pearl Hotel, a Casetta Hotels property, in San Diego’s Point Loma neighborhood. With a proven track record of exceptional guest service and driving operational excellence, Gutierrez is well-equipped to lead Hotel Lucile’s restoration from a 1931 church into a 25-room boutique hotel as it re-emerges into a sanctuary that seamlessly blends architectural history with modern elegance.

“It’s an honor to continue my journey building upon Casetta’s legacy during a pivotal time of expansion for the brand while spearheading the launch of Hotel Lucile, and I’m thrilled to bring my passion for hospitality to Los Angeles,” said Gutierrez. “This hotel perfectly captures Silver Lake’s vibrant energy while honoring the history of this beautifully restored church, and to be able to not only witness but guide the transformation has been a truly rewarding process. I am excited to welcome locals and visitors alike to this thoughtfully reimagined space, which will serve as both a community hub and a destination for unforgettable stays.”

With more than 13 years of hospitality experience spanning a variety of roles and disciplines, Gutierrez’s multi-faceted career began as a busser before working his way up and advancing through leadership roles working with premier global hospitality groups, including Rosewood Hotels & Resorts and Heritage Hotels & Resorts, cultivating his deep understanding of guest service and operational excellence. Now, as the opening general manager of Hotel Lucile, Gutierrez is poised to lead the evolution of the storied property into a boutique hotel, bringing his expertise to spearhead this distinctive adaptive reuse project.

Poised to become a cornerstone of the neighborhood and located in the heart of the architecturally significant city center, Hotel Lucile will bring an innovative blend of nostalgia and timeless yet elevated style to the dynamic community of Silver Lake. Featuring carefully restored architecture blended with modern design elements and thoughtfully curated spaces, Hotel Lucile promises to deliver a truly unique hospitality experience. Housed within the building’s main chapel, Hotel Lucile’s New American French restaurant and bar honors the property’s vintage charm and serves as a striking focal point, with soaring ceilings and original stained-glass windows setting the stage for an unforgettable dining adventure. Beyond the restaurant, additional highlights of the property include a lively rooftop lounge with stunning city views and a sun-soaked pool. Designed for intentional gatherings, Hotel Lucile’s distinct spaces—from the restaurant’s choir loft to its rooftop and the intimate organ room—create opportunities for meaningful connection and serve as the ideal space for meetings and events as the hotel brings a new chapter of growth and innovation to Silver Lake.
