Banyan Group opens Garrya resort in Vietnam

Banyan Group has opened Garrya Mu Cang Chai, a new resort located in Yen Bai Province, Northern Vietnam, and the group’s. first Garrya property in Vietnam. The resort is situated in the Mu Cang Chai region, known for its scenic rice terraces and mountainous landscapes. The area is a popular destination and recognized as a national natural heritage site.

“We are excited to introduce Garrya Mu Cang Chai, a peaceful retreat that embodies Garrya’s philosophy of simple living. Guests can disconnect from modern life and experience nature, culture and community in a tranquil setting,” said Thinh Phan, general manager of the resort.

Covering 16 acres, the resort features 110 rooms, suites and villas with views of the rice terraces and surrounding mountains. Garrya Mu Cang Chai is a six-hour drive from Hanoi, close to popular sites like Mam Xoi and Mong Ngua rice terraces, the Mu Cang Chai bamboo forest and the Khau Pha pass.

The resort offers various room options, ranging from 30 to 154 square meters, all designed with cultural elements, including bamboo accents and H’Mong-inspired motifs. The Mu Cang Chai Pool Suite and Mountain View Pool Villa are designed for guests seeking more luxury, with access to private pools. Additionally, the Wellbeing Suite and Wellbeing Pool Suite offer relaxation areas and spa treatments, designed for those focused on health and wellness.

Dining options at the resort include Refresh, an all-day restaurant serving a mix of Vietnamese, Asian and international dishes. The restaurant has an open and airy design, with views of the surrounding landscape. Charcoal Grill, another on-site restaurant, focuses on traditional cooking methods, featuring Western, Asian and Vietnamese dishes cooked over a live grill. Underground Sport Bar offers a more casual setting with gin-infused craft cocktails, while BZen Pool Bar serves lighter meals and drinks next to the pool.

The 8LEMENTS Spa provides wellness treatments designed to refresh and rejuvenate. The Hydro Wellbeing Area features both hot and cold pools, an infrared sauna and a steam room. Fitness facilities include ReCharge Gym, along with a Social Zone where guests can enjoy group activities like billiards and football.

Garrya Mu Cang Chai also includes a pillarless bamboo ballroom, offering panoramic views of the surrounding rice terraces and mountains. The ballroom, along with several smaller meeting rooms, is equipped with modern sound and lighting systems, ideal for events and meetings. The resort offers an outdoor area for weddings, where couples can host ceremonies with views of the surrounding mountains.

The region is a growing destination for both leisure and business travelers, with natural beauty and cultural experiences offering something for everyone.
