W Austin has completed a renovation that includes expanded suite offerings, with what it calls the most two-bedroom suites in the city and the largest suite.
Penthouse I spans 1,798 square feet and includes two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a separate living room, a dining area, a service entrance and a view of Lady Bird Lake and the Austin skyline. Its in tandem with Penthouse II, which features two bedrooms and bathrooms, multiple sitting and dining areas and views of South Congress bridge.
Four of the hotel’s 32 premium suites now include two-bedroom configurations. The suites are located on the 16th floor and feature upgraded fixtures, concierge service, record players and city views. The rooms incorporate a color palette inspired by Austin’s evening skies, described by the design team as a reflection of the city’s “Violet Crown” nickname.
Throughout the suite floors, rooms include artwork by Texas-based and international artists. Austin artist Ysabel Lemay has several panoramic pieces featured in select rooms. These pieces are described as digital compositions combining hundreds of photographs. Works by Zach Lieberman and Anne Nowak are also installed.

Interior walls are painted in deep green tones and paired with hardwood flooring and natural materials. Furnishings and finishes across the suite categories have been updated. Select suites include Dyson air blades and Miele appliances.
“This transformation at W Austin reflects our commitment to evolving the guest experience while staying true to the city’s character,” said a spokesperson for Opry Entertainment Group, which manages the hotel.
The suite redesign also incorporates music-focused visual elements. The walls feature photography by Scott Newton, known for his work with Austin City Limits. Several images on display were taken during performances at ACL Live, the venue located within the same Block 21 complex as the hotel.
Public relations materials state that the renovation aimed to align the hotel’s top-level suites with current expectations in the Austin hospitality market, particularly among group and long-stay travelers. The W Austin’s positioning in the city center and proximity to entertainment venues was cited as a factor in expanding two-bedroom suite availability.
The W brand is part of Marriott’s lifestyle hotel group. The renovation is part of a broader repositioning effort by Opry Entertainment Group in hospitality assets associated with live music and event-based travel.
