Outrigger Hospitality Group has acquired Zeavola Resort, a beachfront property on the northern tip of Phi Phi Island, Thailand. The resort will be rebranded as Outrigger Phi Phi Island Resort following a complete renovation and is scheduled to reopen on Oct. 1, 2025.
“The addition of a new Outrigger Resort on Phi Phi Island represents a landmark moment in our strategic growth across Asia Pacific,” said Jeff Wagoner, president and CEO of Outrigger Hospitality Group. “Thailand remains one of the world’s most beloved travel destinations and we are thrilled to bring our signature style of beachfront hospitality to this extraordinary location. With our established operational presence in Thailand, we’re well positioned to enhance the guest experience and further strengthen our roots in this vibrant, culturally rich market.”
The resort joins Outrigger’s other properties in Thailand in Koh Samui, Khao Lak and Surin Beach (Phuket).
The resort will feature 63 suites and villas. The company said the design will reflect its barefoot-luxury concept and integrate cultural and environmental elements. Renovations will begin during the island’s shoulder season, during which the resort will suspend operations.
The reimagined property is expected to offer an experience focused on local immersion and marine conservation, in line with Outrigger’s OZONE (Outrigger’s ZONE) initiative. The company said reef-safe practices and educational programming about local ecosystems will be part of the guest experience.
The Phi Phi Island location joins three other Outrigger properties in Thailand, located in Koh Samui, Khao Lak and Surin Beach in Phuket. The company previously operated four resorts in the country and described the move as a continuation of its long-term commitment to Thai hospitality.
