Meliá Hotels International continues its strategic expansion in the Mediterranean with the addition of the Hotel Corte Rosada, Affiliated by Meliá, in Sardinia. This new property will strengthen the group’s presence in Italy, increasing its number of hotels in the country to 15 by 2027.
Meliá expands in the Mediterranean
The Spanish hotel group continues to expand in key Mediterranean destinations, with the opening of the Hotel Corte Rosada, Affiliated by Meliá, in Alghero, Sardinia, scheduled for summer 2025. This project marks an important milestone for the brand, which continues to strengthen its foothold in a strategic Italian market.
“Italy represents a priority market for us, not only because of its tourism strength, but also for its affinity with Meliá’s values: hospitality, Mediterranean culture and service excellence.” – Gabriel Escarrer, CEO of Meliá Hotels International
Hotel Corte Rosada is located in the heart of the Porto Conte Regional Nature Park, just 15 minutes from Alghero airport. The site offers direct access to the beach and is surrounded by luxuriant nature, between cliffs and pine forests. The 152-room hotel will offer a full range of services, including a wellness center and gourmet areas.
Italy, a strategic market for Meliá
This new opening in Sardinia is part of a broader strategy to double Meliá’s presence in Italy. The group plans to open further establishments in Venice and Milan by 2025, consolidating its position in top tourist destinations.
With this expansion, Meliá plans to grow from 8 to 15 hotels in Italy by 2027. “We are proud to continue growing in this country with hotels that respect and value their environment, as is the case with this project in Alghero,” added Gabriel Escarrer.
