Marriott International has signed an agreement with Verkehrsbuero Hospitality to open five hotels in Austria under the Tribute Portfolio, AC Hotels and Four Points Flex by Sheraton brands. The deal will add more than 1,100 rooms and expand Marriott’s presence in the country.
All five hotels will be conversions from existing properties currently operating under Austria Trend Hotels, a brand owned by Verkehrsbuero Hospitality. Four of them will rebrand as Four Points Flex by Sheraton, marking the brand’s debut in Austria. One hotel will become dual-branded with AC Hotels, and another will join the Tribute Portfolio.
“As a company, we have developed a conversion-friendly platform, and these new hotel signings are a testament to the trust owners and franchisees have in Marriott International and the reputation of our world-class brands. Austria is an important growth market for the company, and we continue to see opportunities to further diversify our portfolio in the country. We are particularly looking forward to growth in the affordable midscale segment with Four Points Flex by Sheraton,” said Jerome Briet, chief development officer, Europe, Middle East & Africa, Marriott International.
Austria Trend Hotel beim Theresianum is expected to become Four Points Flex by Sheraton Vienna Hauptbahnhof by the third quarter of 2025.
