NexGen Hotels has acquired the 165-room Claridge House hotel in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood. The hotel will convert to a Tapestry Collection by Hilton this summer.

The hotel is near several city attractions including Wrigley Field, 360 Chicago, the Lakefront Trail, Lincoln Park Zoo, the Magnificent Mile, Soldier Field and Navy Pier. It is also close to museums, restaurants and retail areas.

“We are excited to bring the remarkable Tapestry Collection by Hilton brand to the Gold Coast section of Chicago,” said Chris Patel, president, NexGen Hotels, whose portfolio of 16 hotels is all Midwest based. “This hotel is a testament to our dedication of providing exceptional accommodations for our guests. With its prime location and upscale amenities, we are confident that it will become a premier destination for visitors coming to Chicago.”

Guestrooms include pillow-top beds, Wi-Fi, spa-style showers and a clothes steamer. Amenities at the property include a fitness center, a spa and 685 square feet of meeting space with audiovisual equipment and technical support.

The hotel features two food-and-beverage outlets. Cal’s at Claridge House offers coffee, pastries and breakfast in the morning, along with cocktails and a full menu in the evening. Sushi by Bou Gold Coast serves drinks and food in a space with speakeasy-style design.
