Chef Dominique Crenn has created an afternoon tea menu for her Café Dior, the foodservice component of the Christian Dior boutique in Dallas.
Crenn, who will be inducted into the MenuMasters Hall of Fame Saturday, launched the new offering earlier this month. Café Dior opened Feb. 22.
The boutique café combines Crenn’s culinary vision with Dior’s fashion legacy, featuring dishes like La Colle Noire Chicken, inspired by a Marc Bohan green dress, and Miss Dior Consommé, reflecting a Dior gown’s floral embroidery.
The new afternoon tea is for a minimum of two customers.
“I wanted to create a menu that blends tradition with innovation, offering guests something both familiar and unexpected,” Crenn said in a statement. “Every dish is designed to highlight beauty in the smallest of details.”
For $75 per person, the offering includes: chicken salad sandwiches, caviar and watercress choux, and salmon gravlax crackers. Desserts include: hazelnut chocolate cookies, piña colada baba au rhum, and banana and sesame canelés.
Teas can be purchased separately, featuring a variety of green, black, and herbal teas as well as ceremonial matcha.
Customers can also sip on a glass of Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label Champagne for an additional $25 per person.
The afternoon tea can be booked through Sevenrooms.
The MenuMasters award honors chefs who have spent years promoting excellence in American foodservice. Past inductees include Thomas Keller, Nancy Silverton, Daniel Boulud, Lidia Bastianich, and Wolfgang Puck.
Crenn is the chef and co-owner of Atelier Crenn, which she opened in San Francisco in 2011. The restaurant received its third Michelin star in 2018, making Crenn the first female chef in the United States to receive that recognition.
