Marco Tabet has been appointed as the new general manager of the Hotel del Coronado on Coronado Island, Calif. With over 20 years of experience in the hotel industry, Tabet arrives at the resort after a six-year tenure as general manager at Conrad Punta de Mita in Nayarit, Mexico.
Tabet will oversee the daily operations and overall strategic direction of Hotel del Coronado following a six-year-long, $550 million renovation project incorporating new dining experiences, a reimagined spa, expanded fitness facilities and upgrades to various accommodation offerings.
“We are excited to welcome Marco to the Hotel del Coronado team,” said Harold Rapoza, area vice president of operations, Hilton. “His proven track record in leading exceptional luxury properties and a concrete understanding of the global hospitality industry make him the ideal fit to lead The Del into its next chapter. Marco’s leadership will continue to elevate the guest experience, and we look forward to seeing the innovative strategies he will bring to the iconic property.”
Previously, Tabet has served as general manager at various Hilton properties, including Hilton Los Cabos, Hilton Lima Miraflores in Peru and Waldorf Astoria Panama. Other roles include working in operations and food & beverage management at Hilton Los Cabos and British Colonial Hilton Nassau.

Hotel del Coronado offers five distinct neighborhood experiences, including the Shore House at The Del and Beach Village at The Del, both part of LXR Hotels & Resorts. The remaining neighborhoods are part of Hiltonʻs Curio Collection and include The Cabanas, serving as the social center of the hotel; The Victorian neighborhood, currently undergoing a more than $160 million restoration; and The Views, the hotel’s home base for coastal adventure experiences and activities.
