Ruby Group has confirmed plans to open its second hotel in Geneva, marking its third property in Switzerland. The project is being developed in partnership with PSP Swiss Property and is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2028.
The hotel will be located at Rue de Hesse 18, in Geneva’s central financial district, within a listed former bank building. The property will offer 124 rooms and public areas on the ground floor. With a gross lettable area of 4,150 square meters, the building is being converted from office use into hospitality space.
“This project embodies much of what Ruby stands for : thoughtfully designed spaces, smart and efficient use of existing buildings, and the ability to create hotels with soul in prime urban locations.” – Julian Mörs, Senior Director of Development at Ruby Group
The site is within walking distance of the Rhône River and the existing Ruby Claire Hotel & Bar. It sits between the Quartier des Banques and the Les Bains district, both known for their central role in Geneva’s business and cultural life.
“We are delighted to welcome Ruby Hotels to Geneva, a city of great cultural significance and international renown.” – Willemijn Geels, Vice President Development Europe at IHG Hotels & Resorts
The hotel is part of Ruby Group’s broader development pipeline, which includes upcoming properties in Berlin, Copenhagen, Rotterdam, and Stockholm. It also reflects the group’s strategy of converting heritage buildings in urban centers into hotels, aligned with its lean operational model. This opening will be Ruby’s 34th hotel and contributes to its continued expansion in key European markets.
The interest for Geneva is increasing as other big groups, like easyhotel and Room Mate Hotelshave chosen this destination in order to expand their portfolio,
