Arcotel Hotels has officially opened its fourth property in Vienna, the Arcotel AQ, located in the newly developed Althan Quartier (AQ) district.
Arcotel AQ, a four-star hotel, offers 157 rooms and suites, including some with balconies, and features a design that blends Vienna’s historic with contemporary elements. Moreover, the hotel provides a range of amenities, including a breakfast restaurant, a bar, four seminar rooms with natural light, and a fitness area.
The hotel’s design was conceptualized by the Viennese studio destilat, integrating elements such as classic Viennese wickerwork, velvet fabrics, and fin-de-siècle birdcage armchairs. The hotel also features curated contemporary artworks, including pieces by street artist Mr. Brainwash.
“Added to that, a piece of authentic Vienna lies right outside the door. The elegant Biedermeier houses and cafés of the Alsergrund, the Danube Canal with street art and trendy dining hotspots. Our guests can expect a city experience off the beaten tourist track.” – General Manager Rebecca Penz
The Arcotel AQ is also expected to play a role in the local community, with the hotel’s BARbara bar offering a casual meeting space for both guests and locals. The grand opening celebration is scheduled for September 2025, solidifying the hotel’s position as a key player in Vienna’s hospitality scene.
Arcotel AQ is located near the Franz Josef Train Station in the 9th district, offering easy access to key parts of the city, including the Alsergrund and Danube Canal areas. Furthermore, it marks an important step in the development of the Althan Quartier district, a large-scale urban project aimed at revitalizing the area.
This opening follows Arcotel’s broader growth strategy, with the hotel group continuing to expand within the region, as it is the fourth opening in Vienna and brings the group’s total to twelve hotels across Austria and Germany. Moreover, Arcotel plans to open the Arcotel Tabakfabrik in Linz in 2026, continuing its commitment to growth in Austria, a location where the company is firmly rooted.
