After studying economics in Madrid and completing a Master’s degree in finance and international trade in Paris, Federico González Tejera was destined for a career in marketing. He cut his teeth at Procter & Gamble, then joined the Disneyland Paris adventure in 2004, where he developed the marketing strategy for eight years.
His ability to reposition companies caught the attention of the new Chinese shareholders of the NH Hotel Group, who were looking for a new direction. This was the mission he undertook from 2012 onwards, first in the Spanish group, then at the head of Radisson Hospitality from 2017. He orchestrated the rebranding of Carlson Rezidor to Radisson Hotel Group and launched a far-reaching transformation plan.
Under the control of another Chinese group, Jin Jiang International, Radisson Hospitality doubled in size in just a few years. Jin Jiang, which also owns the Louvre Hotels Group, appointed him to head this subsidiary in 2023 to carry out the same work.
Building on his previous experience, Federico Gonzalez convinced shareholders to provide the financial resources necessary for a transformation of the company based on a five-year plan, perfectly paced in three stages: upgrading, new services and new developments.
His reputation as a ‘serial transformer’ is well established, and he regularly speaks at international hotel forums about his method and his vision of leadership. He advocates an approach focused on people, innovation, cultural adaptability and, above all, setting an example.
During a recent speech in Madrid, he concluded with a quote from the sixth President of the United States, John Quincy Adams: ‘If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a good leader.’
