In some markets, Memorial Day weekend heralds the start of summer. Others wait for the calendar to tell them that spring is officially in the rear-view. But one surefire way to know that summer is here, in spirit at least, is by witnessing all the frozen cocktails hitting bar tops and tables across the country.

Right now, restaurant operators and bartenders are opening their patios and stocking their menus with cold, icy drinks. Some stick to the classics, serving Margaritas and other frozen favorites, while others are using the heat as an opportunity to experiment with bold, creative drinks that have never been seen before and may never be seen again. Naturally, the format allows for plenty of fun glassware and garnishes.
