Marriott International has officially opened its first StudioRes property in Fort Myers, Fla., in partnership with Concord Hospitality and Whitman Peterson. The opening marks the company’s entry into the midscale extended stay segment and comes nearly two years after the concept was first introduced.

“Since unveiling StudioRes only two years ago, we have been thrilled by the reception among owners and franchisees, and we are proud to celebrate this milestone with Concord Hospitality and Whitman Peterson,” said Leeny Oberg, CFO and EVP, development at Marriott International. “We designed StudioRes to provide terrific value for customers with an innovative room design and a highly efficient operating model for long-term stays. The fast adoption of the brand also demonstrates the power of the Marriott Bonvoy ecosystem and the importance of our strong developer relationships, while underscoring our continued commitment to providing lodging options for every traveler, price point and trip purpose.”

The 124-room property offers studio-style accommodations with one or two beds, lounging areas and full kitchens equipped with stovetops, microwaves and full-sized refrigerators. Guests have access to communal spaces, outdoor patios and fitness centers, as well as food and beverage vending, fast Wi-Fi, streaming services and casual workspaces.

StudioRes Fort Myers is Marriott’s first StudioRes property.

StudioRes targets guests staying for construction projects, relocations or long-term assignments. Marriott describes the brand as its most affordable cost-per-key development product, supported by a turnkey prototype and bundled fee model aimed at developers.

“Concord Hospitality’s longstanding relationship with Marriott has been defined by strategic alignment, mutual trust and a shared commitment to quality,” said Mark Laport, CEO and president of Concord Hospitality. “Our role in supporting the shaping of Marriott’s next-generation hotel prototypes speaks to the strength of that relationship. The grand opening of the first-ever StudioRes property is a significant milestone—not only for Marriott, but for Concord as we continue to lead in developing high-performing, scalable hospitality assets that meet the evolving needs of today’s extended-stay traveler and deliver long-term value for our investment partners.”

The Fort Myers location is near Southwest Florida International Airport, with access to area attractions including Sanibel and Captiva Island, Manatee Park and the Caloosahatchee River.

StudioRes Fort Myers is now taking reservations and is the first in a planned rollout of more than 40 properties in the U.S. and Canada through 2027.
