Novum Hospitality, IHG Hotels & Resorts, and the Hilpert Group have announced the development of a new voco Hotel in Berlin-Mitte, set to open by the end of 2028. Located at Mollstraße 4, within walking distance of Alexanderplatz, the upscale hotel will offer 440 rooms over approximately 14,650 square meters of gross floor area.
Construction is scheduled to start in mid-2026. The family-run Hilpert Group from Würzburg is responsible for the development and ownership of the property.
Partnership and strategic expansion
This project marks the first voco Hotel operated by Novum Hospitality and represents the eighth joint venture between Novum Hospitality and IHG since the start of their long-term partnership in April 2024. Their collaboration includes several other brands such as Garner, Candlewood Suites, Holiday Inn, and The Niu, with over 1,400 rooms secured across multiple properties.
“With voco Berlin Alexanderplatz, together with IHG and the Hilpert Group, we are setting a strong example for the future of urban hospitality. This project combines our entrepreneurial vision with an internationally established brand – right in the heart of Berlin. It is a significant milestone in our strategic expansion and a testament to the strength of our partnership with IHG.” – David Etmenan, CEO and owner of Novum Hospitality
“We are delighted to bring IHG’s fastest-growing premium brand – voco Hotels – to the German capital. This signing is a prime example of the brand’s appeal – both to our guests and our hotel owners, who are confident in its long-term success. We are proud to further expand our partnership with Novum Hospitality in this way and look forward to bringing the distinctive charm and character of voco Hotels to Berlin in 2028.” – Willemijn Geels, Vice President Development Europe at IHG Hotels & Resorts
Future developments
Novum Hospitality and IHG plan to continue integrating various IHG brands into their portfolio depending on location and concept. The voco Berlin Alexanderplatz project demonstrates this approach and is the first joint initiative beyond their initial brand scope. Additional projects are currently in planning.
