The Newbury Boston announces new general manager

The Newbury Boston, a luxury property managed by Highgate, has promoted Robert Rouleau to general manager. Most recently, Rouleau served as hotel manager for the property.

“The Newbury Boston represents everything I love about this city—history, hospitality and heart. I’m thrilled to be part of its future and to work alongside a team that brings luxury to life in such a personal and dynamic way,” he said.

He joined The Newbury Boston in 2021 as director of food & beverage, bringing more than two decades of hospitality experience to the property. Previously, Rouleau held a range of senior leadership positions at The Beverly Hills Hotel, including assistant director of food & beverage, catering sales; director of restaurants; assistant director of food and beverage, F&B Operations; director of The Cabana Café and Pool; Bar Nineteen12 department head; and beverage manager.

Located in Back Bay and directly across from Boston’s Public Garden, The Newbury Boston opened in 1927 as one of the first Ritz-Carlton hotels in the United States. The property now features 286 guest rooms and suites, The Street Bar and Contessa, rooftop restaurant designed by Major Food Group.
