Gravity Haus, the Colorado-based hospitality management and social club, announced the appointment of Mike DeFrino, former CEO of Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, as President. This addition of a key executive to the leadership team prepares the company for its next stage of growth.

“Mike has served on the Gravity Haus board for the past year and we share a common passion for people and community-driven brands like Gravity Haus,” said Jim Deters Chairman & CEO. “With Mike’s experience growing Kimpton for 25 years to its acquisition by IHG, he is the perfect fit to lead our next stage of growth at Gravity Haus.”

DeFrino is a highly respected leader in the hospitality industry with over 40 years of experience. Most recently, DeFrino held the position of Managing Director of IHG Luxury and Lifestyle Hotels, Americas. Prior to that, he spent 28 years at Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, serving as CEO until Kimpton’s acquisition by IHG in 2022. DeFrino is passionate about operational excellence, creating exceptional guest experiences, and fostering a strong connection between guests and the outdoors. In this leadership role, he will propel the company into its next phase of growth and expansion, bringing his broad expertise in boutique hospitality to the company.

“I am thrilled to take on the role as President of Gravity Haus and to be a part of a company that is so deeply committed to creating a unique and inspiring experience for adventure travelers,” said DeFrino. “I believe in Gravity Haus’ mission to enable a modern active lifestyle, and I look forward to working with the talented team to help the company achieve its ambitious goals.”

Gravity Haus is a leader in the outdoor experiential hospitality industry and will open its ninth hotel in Big Sky, Montana, early this summer. Gravity Haus also recently announced its expanded Denver ClubHaus that offers its Denver-metro members a variety of boutique amenities including fitness and yoga classes, contrast therapy, co-working and community events in addition to the on-property discounts and benefits to enable their members active and outdoor lifestyle.
