MGallery Collection has opened Green Coast Hotel – MGallery Collection, its first property in Albania. The 131-room resort is located between mountains and the Ionian Sea on the Albanian Riviera, one hour from the new Vlora International Airport, which is expected to open in mid-2025.
Surrounded by beaches and UNESCO World Heritage sites, the hotel is near Palasë Beach and historic destinations including the city of Berat. The hotel’s design includes “Illyrian, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman influences,” and features natural materials like taupe stone.
Rooms and suites were designed with “natural textures and earthy tones.” Five suites include custom touches such as “Roman-inspired ceramics,” “handwoven textiles” and “carved stonework.” The Presidential Suite offers expansive sea views.
The hotel’s Mosaic restaurant serves seasonal dishes using local ingredients. Menu items include “Peruvian ceviche with fresh, raw white fish cured in a zesty lime juice” and “Swish Tawook, featuring succulent marinated chicken skewers bursting with warm, soulful flavours of paprika and cumin.” The reception bar, Mente, features “small sharing plates and cocktails — including the Golden Laurel,” a house cocktail made with local Raki infused with rosemary and sage.
Guests can take part in vineyard tours, cooking classes and a honey-tasting experience. The five-floor wellness area includes a fitness studio, sauna and hair treatments, along with therapies framed by sea views. Additional offerings include “full-moon beach yoga,” “sunset sound healing by the sea” and hikes along the Caesar Trail.
The hotel’s “M Moment” experience is a guided sunrise paragliding excursion that starts with “a gourmet mountain top breakfast” and ends near “the historic Julius Caesar giant coin,” followed by a champagne toast.
The hotel supports the local branch of the UN Women organization and other initiatives focused on culture and sustainability. Event spaces are also available, with views of the Ionian coast and catering from the on-site culinary team.
