UK: Hospitality company Rambler Group Holdings has acquired The Oaks Hotel & Leisure Club in Burnley for an undisclosed amount.

The property, originally listed for offers around £1.8 million, was marketed by Colliers’ Hotels team.

Dating back to 1885, The Oaks Hotel is a 51-bedroom period property set within 3.5 acres. It includes a leisure club, event and meeting spaces, and the Quills restaurant.

Located in Reedley, the hotel overlooks Pendle Hill and is minutes from the M65, with transport links to Manchester and Leeds.

Lavender Hotels sold the property to release capital for reinvestment in its remaining assets. Rambler Group, based locally, plans to integrate the hotel into its Aura Hotels portfolio.

Future investment plans include guest room refurbishment, expansion of the leisure club, new dining options, and the launch of wellness services.

Rambler Group intends to retain the property’s historic character while upgrading facilities.

Legal and advisory support was provided by Harrison Drury for the seller and Onecall Hospitality for the buyer.

Jonathon Butterworth, managing director at Lavender Hotels, said: “The decision to sell The Oaks Hotel was a strategic one, enabling us to release equity from the sale to reinvest into the other hotels in our portfolio.”
