Franchise growth strategy

The Scandic Victoria Florø will be the 19th franchise hotel in Scandic’s portfolio. Franchise hotels have become a key component of the company’s growth strategy.

“Increasing our focus on franchising is an efficient way to complement our expansion in new destinations. Franchises are a central part of our growth strategy for 2030, and we aim to create the best franchise program in the Nordic countries, built on strong local partnerships and a shared passion for the guest experience.” –  Jens Mathiesen, President & CEO of Scandic Hotels Group

Scandic’s franchise model allows the company to expand into new regions while maintaining a strong local presence and leveraging local expertise. This expansion aligns with Scandic’s goal of adding 40 to 50 new hotels and 10,000 rooms by 2030, with a significant portion of these developments expected to be in the Nordic countries.

A long-term partnership with the Helle family

The partnership with the Helle family, who have owned the hotel for many years, will ensure the continued operation and management of the hotel while integrating the Scandic brand’s values.

The Helle family has made significant improvements to the hotel in recent years, and the property now boasts 97 rooms and meeting facilities for up to 150 people.

Revolutionizing Hotel Retail: AI-Driven Personalization Enhances Guest Experiences

“We are happy to be cooperating with the Helle family and are excited to welcome such a renowned hotel to Scandic’s portfolio. The hotel has a high standard and a strong local management team that shares Scandic’s values and culture.” – Søren Nystrøm, Director of Franchise at Scandic Hotels Group

“Victoria Hotel has been an important part of Florø for over a hundred years, and it is important for us to preserve both its identity and local roots. Through our collaboration with Scandic, we gain new inspiration and drive to take the hotel forward, while guests will continue to experience the same hospitality and warm atmosphere they know from before. We look forward to embarking on this new chapter and to further developing both the hotel and Florø as a destination.” – Ole Johan Helle, representing the Helle family

Expansion in Western Norway

The addition of Scandic Victoria Florø is part of Scandic’s broader strategy to enhance its presence in western Norway. Florø, known for its natural beauty and strong business community, is an attractive destination for both business and leisure travelers.

The new hotel will contribute to the continued growth of Scandic in this region, after the recent opening of The Dock 69°39 by Scandic in the heart of Tromsø.

Scandic Victoria Florø underscores Scandic’s commitment to expanding its franchise portfolio in new and growing markets. This partnership with the Helle family will help Scandic reach its 2030 growth objectives while strengthening the brand’s local presence and operational expertise in western Norway.
