New property acquisition to expand Travelodge’s footprint in Spain
Travelodge has secured a freehold interest in a new, purpose-built property in Bilbao, marking an important step in the brand’s growth in Spain.
The hotel, which is structurally complete, will undergo final preparations to be furnished and equipped before opening in the first quarter of 2026. This addition will bring the latest Travelodge brand standards to the Bilbao metropolitan area.

The new Travelodge hotel will be strategically located, just five minutes from the nearest metro station and well-connected to the main railway stations in Bilbao, Abando and Concordia, as well as Bilbao Airport. The surrounding area offers various amenities, including restaurants, supermarkets, and cafés, providing added convenience for guests.
Growth potential in Spain
Travelodge has an established presence in Spain, with 14 hotels already in operation. The brand aims to expand further, having identified around 20 additional locations for potential hotel openings across the country.
