Mandarin Oriental has announced it will open a second hotel in Dubai this October, located within the new Wasl Tower on Sheikh Zayed Road.
The 63-storey tower, distinguished by its twisting ceramic façade, will house Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai. The property will include 259 rooms and suites, 224 branded residences and a rooftop helipad.
The hotel is designed with energy-efficient technologies intended to reduce cooling demands in the city’s climate. The tower’s fins are built to improve airflow, while the structure is described as the region’s tallest ceramic façade.
The hotel will also feature Dubai’s first Mandarin Oriental branded residences, which will be available for lease. Guests and residents will have access to a spa spread across two floors, as well as ten restaurants and bars offering French, Chinese, Greek and Italian cuisine among others.
The Wasl Tower is the second Dubai site for Mandarin Oriental, which already operates the Mandarin Oriental Jumeira on the city’s waterfront.
