Nobu has opened its first restaurant in Egypt at OGAMI, a coastal development by SODIC on the North Coast. The launch marks the official arrival of the globally recognized lifestyle brand in the country, introducing its signature style of Japanese dining to one of the region’s key summer destinations.

SODIC has also confirmed that the brand’s hotels, restaurants and residences will also be introduced at The Estates and Eastown District New Cairo (EDNC), two of its major projects in Greater Cairo.

The restaurant serves Nobu’s well-known dishes, including Yellowtail Jalapeño, along with new items created specifically for the Egyptian market. In keeping with the brand’s design philosophy, the space blends natural textures, light wood finishes, and geometric accents. It was designed by Rockwell Group, the architecture firm behind many Nobu projects worldwide.

Described as more than a restaurant, Nobu North Coast reflects the brand’s Kokoro philosophy, which focuses on the connection between design, service, and guest experience. According to SODIC, the restaurant “blends understated elegance with a sun-soaked, beachside energy.”

“The arrival of Nobu at OGAMi marks a transformative moment for the North Coast. This partnership reflects our commitment to curating world-class experiences and introducing global icons to Egypt in a way that feels both thoughtful and distinctly local. Nobu is not just a restaurant; it encapsulates everything OGAMI stands for: intentional design, elevated hospitality, and a bold new standard for coastal living,” said  Ayman Amer, general manager of SODIC.

The launch includes a summer calendar of curated events, cultural experiences and global brand activations. It is the first step in a broader collaboration between SODIC and Nobu that will expand across the developer’s portfolio.

Future plans include Nobu Residences at OGAMI, a residential development that will bring Nobu’s design philosophy into private homes. A Nobu Hotel will also open at the site. Together, these elements will form what SODIC describes as “a complete lifestyle ecosystem” across 440 acres of Mediterranean beachfront.

OGAMI was recently named “Master Plan of the Year” at the 2025 Architecture Leaders Awards by Design Middle East. According to SODIC, the project combines “Japanese minimalism and Mediterranean warmth” to redefine coastal living.
