Dubai-based JA Resorts and Hotels has expanded into the UK with the addition of Mar Hall in Renfrewshire and The Bruntsfield Hotel in Edinburgh to its portfolio.
Mar Hall, set in 240 acres of countryside on the banks of the River Clyde, underwent a refurbishment of more than £25m before reopening in May.
The property features 74 guest rooms and suites, two restaurants, two bars, a 22-seat cinema, a gaming room and a billiards room.
It was acquired by parent company Dutco Group in 2024.
Meanwhile, The Bruntsfield Hotel, built in 1861 as a baronial-style residence, completed a £1m refurbishment in 2022.
Located near Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile and Princes Street Gardens, it offers 72 rooms, a restaurant and bar, a heated garden and event facilities. Dutco Group also acquired the property in 2024.
These two properties mark JA Resorts and Hotels first presence in the United Kingdom, joining its resorts in Dubai and the Maldives.
JA Resorts said: “Each of these properties will bring its own unique character while sharing our commitment to creating exceptional guest experiences. We look forward to writing this exciting new chapter together.”
Mar Hall added: “We are proud to be part of the JA Resorts and Hotels family, alongside our sister property The Bruntsfield Hotel in Edinburgh. Together with The Bruntsfield, we bring a distinct Scottish spirit to JA’s award-winning global portfolio, which includes exceptional resorts in Dubai and the Maldives.”
