7 Hospitality Management (7H) has been appointed to manage Islay Cottages, a cottage and guest house business on the Isle of Islay.

The guest house, Kilchoman House, is a refined country house set amid the island’s landscapes, and operates alongside Islay Cottages, a collection of self-catering cottages.

Under 7H, it said Islay Cottages will benefit from “enhanced operational support, tailored guest experiences, and strategic marketing initiatives designed to highlight its unique appeal”.

Conner Hutchison, head of brand and communications at 7H, said: “We’re excited to work closely with the teams on-site to ensure every guest enjoys the very best of Islay. Both the cottages and Kilchoman House.”

This latest appointment is 7H’s second appointment on the Isle of Islay after its appointment at the Islay Hotel.

The hotel was sold in October last year by a consortium led by Steven Haag to the California-based Payne-Clark family for an undisclosed sum. The house and grounds will be refurbished and further hospitality operations added, to finish the work originally begun by the selling party.

Works to restore areas of the house such as the Victorian kitchen, a dedicated whisky bar, an all-day dining concept and bringing the extensive walled garden back to life, will all be planned.

The hotel is expected to reopen as a full-service luxury hotel in spring 2026, following the sale. Islay House will embark on its extensive refurbishment in early 2025 and operate on a restricted bed and breakfast basis until spring 2026.

7H operates a portfolio of 22 hotels across Scotland and England and recently celebrated its seventh anniversary having been founded in 2017. It has grown from a boutique consultancy into a full-service hotel management company.
