Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has appointed Raphael Bick as chief information officer.

Bick joins the group executive committee and reports directly to Laurent Kleitman, group chief executive. He is responsible for leading the company’s technology, digital and artificial intelligence strategy.

Bick has more than 20 years’ experience in technology and digital transformation, having worked with global consumer-facing businesses in hospitality and retail.

Most recently, he was Asia leader of McKinsey Technology, where he advised companies on technology-driven transformation.

He previously helped establish McKinsey Digital Labs in Asia and oversaw its technology delivery centres in the region.

Originally from Germany, Bick has worked across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the US. He holds an MBA from Insead in Singapore and will be based in Hong Kong.

In a LinkedIn post confirming his appointment, Bick said: “I’m delighted to announce that I have joined Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group as chief information officer.

“I am honoured to work alongside Laurent Kleitman and the team at Mandarin Oriental, leading the group’s technology, digital and AI transformation. Mandarin Oriental’s vision — ‘to be fans of the exceptional, every day, everywhere’ — deeply resonates with me and I am excited about the ways in which technology and AI can contribute to personalised experiences for our guests and colleagues.”
