Boutique hotels keep asking about AIO, GEO optimization, and preparing for AI search.

But here’s what I see when I audit their websites: 12-second load times, Google Business Profiles with 21 photos, and blog sections that haven’t been updated since 2019.
You want to optimize for AI search? Go for it. But your website is broken.
It’s like asking how to win a marathon when you haven’t learned to walk properly yet.

AI tools pull information from the same places Google does. If you’re invisible to traditional search, you’ll be invisible to AI search too.

So before you chase the next shiny trend, ask yourself:
– Does my website actually load fast?
– Is my Google Business Profile complete?
– Do I have FAQ sections on my pages?
– Are my room pages properly structured?
– Do I have service pages that match what shows up on my Google Business Profile?
– Do we reply to our reviews?
– Do I have real content, or just stock photos with generic descriptions?
– When’s the last time I posted anything?
– and the list goes on……

Everyone else will still be wondering why their broken fundamentals aren’t magically working better with new technology.
Fix your foundation before you build the roof.
