Boutique hotel group House of Gods will open its first London property in Canary Wharf on 27 October, featuring the area’s first rooftop bar and restaurant.
The 79-room hotel will follow the design-led, “maximalist” style of House of Gods’ Edinburgh and Glasgow properties, which have gained “a cult following for their immersive interiors”.
The London opening will include the Sacred Garden, a rooftop space with capacity for 300 guests and views over Eden Dock.
The group, backed by leisure investor Imbiba, has stated that it wants to bring “decadence and drama” to the capital’s hospitality scene.
Located close to the Museum of London Docklands, Greenwich and Tower Bridge, the hotel aims to position Canary Wharf as a cultural and business destination.
Founder Mike Baxter said: “Since 2019, House of Gods has been built on a simple promise: every guest should be treated like they’re famous. At House of Gods, our guests aren’t just visitors, they’re the stars of the show. With our incredible new hotel in Canary Wharf, we’re taking that philosophy to dazzling new heights.
“London is our boldest move yet and every detail has been designed to make guests feel truly celebrated. We can’t wait to open the doors and welcome London into the world of House of Gods.”
