Ruby Group is strengthening its presence in the Scandinavian market with the announcement of a second project in Sweden. The new 78-room hotel will be built in Malmö’s vibrant Davidshall district and is being developed in partnership with Swedish real estate company Revelop, known for its sustainable approach in key urban areas.
Davidshall, known for its charming alleyways, vintage boutiques, and vibrant café culture, is just around the corner from Triangeln Station – the future Öresund metro link to Copenhagen, scheduled for completion in 2029. Malmö city center and Malmö Central Station are within walking distance, while Copenhagen Airport is a 30-minute train ride away.
The hotel is being created through the transformation of a former office building, with inviting public spaces on the ground floor. The long-established restaurant “Brogatan” will continue to operate independently in the building, thus enhancing the authentic local character of the location. With a total floor area of approximately 3,500 m², the project seamlessly integrates with Ruby’s flexible and spacious-efficient model.
The transformation is being led by Revelop as project developer and investor, while the interior design is being handled by Ruby’s in-house design team, led by Matthew Balon. The hotel is scheduled to open in Q1 2028, after which it will become part of the premium segment of IHG Hotels & Resorts, which acquired the Ruby Hotels brand earlier this year.
