Travelodge has officially opened its first hotel in Skegness, marking the chain’s 600th site in the UK.
The 80-room property, located 400 metres from the town’s Blue Flag beach, has created 22 jobs across housekeeping, management and front-of-house roles.
It includes 12 SuperRooms, two of which are accessible, equipped with mini fridges, Lavazza coffee machines and 43-inch TVs.
The Skegness hotel is also the first Travelodge to feature a top-floor bar café, offering views of the seafront.
Nearby attractions include Skegness Pier, the Pleasure Beach and Natureland Seal Sanctuary, with Fantasy Island and Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve also close by.
Additionally, the site has achieved a BREEAM Excellent rating for sustainability and an EPC rating of A. It uses air source heat pumps for hot water, low-energy lighting and water-saving fittings.
Steve Bennett, chief property and development officer at Travelodge, said: “This new opening marks both our 600th hotel in the UK and our first in this popular Lincolnshire holiday resort.
“With its fantastic seafront location and new top floor bar café, we can offer a warm welcome to families, fun seekers and business travellers looking for comfortable and great value stays on the Lincolnshire coast.”
