Morimoto Asia — the Asian-fusion restaurant from Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto — is introducing a passport-style loyalty program to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its Disney Springs restaurant in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
The “Passport to Morimoto Asia” program starts Oct. 1 and will showcase a unique dish and cocktail from a different pan-Asian country each month. The program kicks off with Japan (Morimoto’s home country), with Okinawa Soba (thick wheat noodles typically served in a soup with pork belly and fish cake) and Awamori Sour (a cocktail made from the Okinawan rice liquor).
“For 10 years, it has been a great pleasure to share my food and vision with guests at Disney Springs,” chef Morimoto said in a statement. “This journey continues because of my team’s passion and dedication, and they inspire me every day. I look forward to the next 10 years, bringing new ideas and flavors to everyone who visits.”
Other monthly specials include Thailand in December (Pad Thai and Reconstructed Thai tea cocktail), Vietnam in January (A-5 Wagyu Pho and a Jackfruit Mojito), the Philippines in May (Adobo Tacos and Pandan Espresso Martini made from the Southeast Asian tropical plant), India in July (Chicken 65, a South Indian deep-fried chicken appetizer and a Porter Flip beer cocktail), and China next September (Dongpo pork from the Hangzhou region and Pomelo Paloma made from the Southeast Asian fruit).
Guests that try out any of the 12 special dishes and 12 cocktails will have the opportunity to collect stamps in a custom passport. Customers that collect all 24 stamps will win a weekend getaway to Boston (including tickets to an event at TD Garden, dinner for two, and a free hotel stay). Those that collect 12 of the stamps will be able to attend an exclusive reception at Morimoto Asia hosted by chef Morimoto next year.
“We are very excited to launch ‘Passport to Morimoto Asia,’ a program designed to thank our dedicated guests who have embraced us over the past decade,” Paul Snyder, general manager of Morimoto Asia, said in a statement.
Morimoto Asia is owned and operated by Patina Group, the restaurant group behind multiple Florida, California, and New York City concepts, including other Disney World-area restaurants like Space 220 and Via Napoli in Epcot, and the Edison and Enzo’s Hideaway in Disney Springs.
