MTV’s “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star, Karlie Redd, will open the Red Room Bistro lounge on Sept. 28.
Redd, who owns Johnny’s Chicken & Waffles in Atlanta, will open the American-Caribbean-inspired lounge that covers 3,000 square feet and will seat 85.
Redd has partnered with Ace Carrington for the lounge in downtown Atlanta.
“I’m excited to join forces again with Karlie on this venture,” Carrington said in a statement. “The restaurant industry can be both challenging and oversaturated, but our focus is clear — delivering great quality food and even greater customer service. Atlanta often carries a stigma of poor service, and we want to change that narrative by setting a new standard.”
Redd was inspired by her father and late stepmother, who owned the Dewar’s Restaurant for decades and ignited Redd’s passion for hospitality.
The lounge was designed by Atlanta restaurateur Ty Young, and it features a red color palette.
Red Room Bistro will introduce events like its “Bunnies and Bubbles Brunch” on Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. Customers can choose from menu items such as French toast topped with macerated strawberries and finished with a cinnamon crumble.
The full menu will feature a mix of tapas-style offerings, from American-style wings and burgers to Caribbean-inspired dishes.
Redd and Carrington were both raised in Trinadad. Carrington partnered with Redd on Johnny’s Chicken & Waffles and created Atlanta concepts such as Crescent City Kitchen and Spice House.
“Food and quality service have been a passion of mine since childhood,” Redd said in a statement. “With Red Room Bistro, I wanted to create more than just a restaurant. I wanted to create an experience. This will be a vibe unlike anything else in Atlanta, where great food, atmosphere, and unforgettable moments all come together.”
